This summer in the Loft has been seriously buzzing with activity. Hundreds of teens have visited the library to check out books, participate in our many programs (like creative writing workshops, booktalks, and theatre rehearsals), and give an impromptu chat with one of the staff about a fantastic recent read (or write an online review).
But maybe you haven’t made it out yet? Maybe you’ve wanted to participate, but the summer has slipped right past yo u? There’s still time! The last day to participate and be eligible for one of our weekly prizes (and to be entered in our end-of-summer grand prize drawing) is this Saturday, August 8th. Attend one of our last three summer programs and/or submit an online review and/or tell us in person about a book you recently read and/or…you get the picture. CHAINMAILLE EARRINGS
Thursday, August 6, 4-5:30 pm, in the Loft. From metal rings to fancy bling, earrings are the latest addition to the Loft’s chainmaille oeuvre. We’ll also learn a new pattern for a key chain or bracelet. Grades 6-12. Register here.
NEIL GAIMAN BOOKTALK
Tuesday, August 11, 4pm. Have a favorite Neil Gaiman book? The Graveyard Book, Coraline, Stardust, Anansi Boys, or another? Join us for an all-things-Neil-Gaiman afternoon, with a movie to follow. Grades 6-12. Register here.
